On the 12th of January the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda was celebrated with a grand procession by the students of Adhiyaman Public and Adhiyaman Matric Schools in Uthangarai. The atmosphere was festive and bright with traditional music and drum beats energizing both the children and the bystanders alike.
The procession featured all the children dressed in colorful and vibrant costumes of Vivekananda and sister Nivetida carrying placards with their inspirational teachings and messages. Their beaming faces and enthusiasm was contagious in the crowd. The procession was led by Dr. S. Thirumal Murugan, the Chairman of the Adhiyaman Group of Institutions, Mr. Ganapathi Raman, the administrative officer, the teachers and the Principal. A special guest of the occasion was Dr. Srinivasan, an official from the NCERT Delhi.
The procession began at 9:00 A.M. and went through the main roads of Uthangarai town and culminated at about 11:30 A.M. Along the route students cheered the band blared and drums rolled. It was an atmosphere filled with opportunities for mutual celebration and respect for the great saint Swami Vivekananda.
The Occasion was made memorable with Dr. Srinivasan delivering a phenomenal and inspiring speech. His oration was about Swami Vivekananda's life and teachings that he left behind. He spoke of how through hard work and perseverance, one could achieve success and greatness.
The occasion ended on a grand note with both the schools marching back towards their respective campuses, singing Vivekananda's hymn in unison.
It was indeed a sight to behold and the students were left with a feeling of satisfaction and achievement. The event was a brilliant example of the positive spirit of unity and harmony in both the schools. It instilled a sense of pride in every one who was present at the parade and was an amazing way to commemorate the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. The energetic performance of the children was highly appreciated by the bystanders.
